A toilet flush that sparks me thinking
Sunday, September 04, 2005
Umm... I was wondering how come the toilet flush was not working. I could flush it about 5mins ago. Don't tell me I spoilt the pump!? I quickly looked for dad. The first qn tt asked - Is there water? "Yah, there was" - I replied. The first thing he did was, he turned the kitchen tap and noticed the slowness in the water current. The next thing he asked me to keep two clean pails of water while he checked the toilet. He suspects we going to have water shortage(Hope not)?! Gosh - What!? The next thing Dad did, he opened the main door. AH! The lights aren't working. Dad went to do the checking in the pitch darkness. I quickly called Mum just in case she's on the way home. Lift aren't working and our common staircase has no lights. Bahhh.....While blogging, Mum came home. So I called Town Council - mm surprised someone picked the phone.

I'd to account this - I was amazed with dad reaction. I guessed because we, the younger generation, had lived in such a blessing environment. What's more we are living in here where we don't experience natural disasters.
These makes us ignorant and senseless to such things. I read the papers of what happened in New Orlean. It's like watching a movie. But this movie came alive in a modern city. I really cannot imagine how I will be if I'm in such distress situation.

I have nothing to grumble about because I am fortunate. I'll have to learnt from all these small encounters and keep that in mind.
