Bro came over and seen the new place layout - and he commented it seems good. I took my chance to take pictures of the new area. Then took a shot of a poster of my current place. Now, I started to think about the people around me - their flats that I went - are all going to be acquired!!! My granny place@Holland, Pal's Old place & Feli's place@Dover, now my place@GM - are all going to be gone in 5 years from now. These places had all the memories I had as a child till teens. The only place that is going to stay for long - would be my first home!!!
Today is my 2nd month at my new co. Yet, it seems that I had stayed longer than the fact with so much happenings. In all my years of work, no1 called my name wrongly - only for minor typos - and my name at most 2 versions, usually English or Chinese name - rarely. But, in 2 months, I seen my name quoted wrongly on mails. Firstly, was TING TING - don't ask me WHY!!! Then, I signed off with my english name, but people replied me quoting my chinese name *raise eyebrow*. Had one mail that says "Hi CHAN" - apa lah, only my dad used his surname in work! Most unbeliveable would be recently, sm1 in a mail quoted my surname wrongly - and it refers to a director in my co.!!! Wa, they got the time to dig into the system to pinpoint who did the update and preparing to choke the person. Yet, they didn't have the care to quote the person's name correctly. Mann, it gives me a feeling of no respect for the person. Yesterday, an asst mgr was writing our names down when we attended firedrill. He looked at Min and Me, scribbled onto his paper and walked pass me. I turned my back to look at the list and stunned. My name aren't there - but another gal name instead. So I asked him, "where's my name?". He pointed at the gal's name. I said - "I'm not her!". He pointed to the next name, Min's. Eye big big. I'm not MIN! Do you know who am I!?! (almost fainted!). Sigh!!!! Lastly and sadly, my boss's boss was introducing me to a visitor as one of the DA JIANG of my boss. He never followed on with WHO I AM. I'm no BIG SAUCE - Haiz, identity crisis!!!!
PS: I always prefer my Chinese name used by my family or close ones. It just sound so odd for a co-worker to call me that. And I'm just a SMALL SAUCE@ work and maybe can do some side kicking with Min of those dumb arses who speak loud-loud, but arm fold-fold.
